Well-Child Visits: Growing Strong, One Check-Up at a Time
Well-child visits are like your child’s annual “growth party” at River Valley Pediatrics! We’ll celebrate how much they’ve grown, check that they’re on track, and make sure they’re ready for their next big adventure.
📏 Why Well-Child Visits Matter:
These visits are all about keeping your child healthy and catching any concerns early. We’ll track their growth, development, and milestones—from their first smile to their first steps and beyond.
🩺 What Happens During a Visit:
- Growth checks: Measuring height, weight, and head size.
- Developmental milestones: Are they talking, walking, or playing as expected?
- Vaccinations: Keeping them up-to-date on their shots.
- Vision and hearing: Making sure they can see and hear the world clearly.
We’ll also chat about nutrition, sleep, and any questions you have!
🗓️ When to Schedule:
We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule: at birth, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 2 years, and then yearly. But we’re always here if you need us sooner!
🎈 Fun Tip for Parents:
Bring a small notebook to jot down milestones or questions before the visit. After the check-up, celebrate with a fun outing—like a trip to the playground—to make it a special day! 🎉
